This project focuses on utilizing rare earth ions embedded in solids to develop scalable quantum materials for quantum computing. It aims to create a multifunctional quantum processor node capable of quantum storage, gates, and spin-photon mapping, addressing key challenges in quantum hardware development.
Quantum technologies rely on materials that offer the central resource of quantum coherence, that allow one to control this resource, and that provide suitable interactions to create entanglement.
