The SPHINX project focuses on understanding systemic physical climate risks and their socio-economic impacts. It aims to develop advanced simulation methods to assess these risks and explore strategies to mitigate their effects on society.
Globally climate change already manifests via physical risks – damages from floods, storms, wildfires, heatwaves, droughts, and sea-level rise.
Concerns are rising that these risks may become systemic, adversely affecting the entire socio-economic system.
