The SOLOMON project aims to develop a cost-effective and adaptable smart camera network for security applications. By integrating lightweight cameras with smartphone processing, it seeks to enhance mobility and responsiveness in dynamic environments, enabling real-time adjustments based on situational needs.
Smart cameras are embedded devices combining a visual sensor, a processing unit and a communication interface, allowing the processing of images on the device, such that only aggregated information, instead of raw video data, is transmitted.
