This project examines how soil organisms influence plant diversity and abundance. It focuses on the interactions between plants and soil biota, particularly the arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis, to understand how these relationships affect plant coexistence in natural grassland ecosystems.
Conservation of biodiversity depends on understanding the mechanisms that determine species richness and their relative abundances.
