This project focuses on validating solid oxide fuel cell micro combined heat and power technology in real market conditions. It includes deploying and testing multiple fuel cell units in residential settings to assess their efficiency and integration into existing energy systems.
A consortium has been formed to validate solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) micro CHP technology in a real market environment.
The consortium consists of a utility company, a heating system manufacturer, a fuel cell company and a software company specialising in microgeneration control systems and virtual power plants.
The project consists of two phases:Phase 1:
Deployment of forty BlueGen™ 2 kWe SOFC generators with domestic hot water cylinders or thermal stores (Pathfinder systems).
