This project investigates how social interactions in free-living birds, particularly great tits, change with age and impact survival and reproduction. By analyzing extensive longitudinal data, it aims to understand the role of social behavior in fitness variation across different life stages.
Over the course of an individual’s lifetime, the strength and type of social interactions change markedly with age.
Because social interaction underpins many aspects of fitness, the contributions of age-related changes in social behaviour to fitness variation are a key process to understand.
