The SOCIAL project aims to enhance understanding of governance and law in authoritarian regimes, particularly in Central Asia. It trains doctoral candidates through interdisciplinary programs that combine empirical research with theoretical insights, ultimately contributing to global democratization efforts.
The overarching objective of the SOCIAL is to contribute to global and national efforts in understanding and addressing the challenges associated with promoting democratization and good governance in authoritarian contexts.
More specifically, SOCIAL is built around three interconnected goals: 1.
