This project aims to enhance our understanding of supernovae by analyzing the binary systems that lead to core-collapse supernovae and type Ia supernovae. It utilizes advanced spectroscopy data to investigate stellar populations and their formation histories.
Supernovae are cornerstone to understand the chemical and dynamical evolution of the Universe, cosmology and fundamental physics.
In spite of the great advances achieved during the last decades, key questions remain open.
