This project explores the relationship between skepticism and metaphysics in the works of Sextus Empiricus, focusing on concepts such as the principles of science, parts and wholes, and the nature of space and time. It aims to deepen understanding of these philosophical debates in the context of ancient thought.
Metaphysics is not recognized as a branch of philosophy in Ancient Greece, and Sextus Empiricus is not an exception in this sense; indeed, his attack on dogmatic philosophy is launched from the perspective of the traditional tripartition of philosophy into logic, physics and ethics.
