This project aims to improve public health surveillance methods by developing new statistical monitoring procedures for health data. It focuses on accurately detecting changes in disease incidence to inform effective intervention strategies and enhance public health responses.
Public health surveillance consists of the systematical collection, analysis and interpretation of public health data in order to (i) understand trends, (ii) detect changes in disease incidence and death rates, and (iii) plan, implement and evaluate public health policies.
