SEDICIDODICI's SMART CLOT project aims to develop a comprehensive platform for monitoring blood coagulation and platelet function. This technology seeks to improve treatment accuracy for cardiovascular diseases by providing real-time, automated assessments of patients' hemostatic processes.
Today there is a big concern about cardiovascular diseases (CVD); because each year, it causes 3.9 million deaths in Europe and over 1.8 million deaths in the European Union.
With almost 49 million people living with cardiovascular disease in the EU, these problems have a huge impact on public health and on health and economic resources, with a total cost of € 2.10 billion/year.
