The project seeks to create a diagnostic tool for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that can identify high-risk types and assess their potential to cause cervical cancer. This will improve screening processes and reduce unnecessary medical interventions.
Infection with certain Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) types has been demonstrated as the most important risk factor in the development of cervical dysplasia, found to be present in nearly 100% of women with cervical cancer.
