The SIMUSAFE project aims to enhance road safety by developing behavioral models using driving simulators and virtual reality. It focuses on understanding driver and pedestrian interactions to identify factors contributing to traffic accidents and improve safety measures.

It has been claimed that 90% of road-traffic crashes are caused by driver error, being a significant factor in traffic accidents.
