This project focuses on developing new multicomponent reactions to efficiently synthesize biologically relevant six-membered ring lactones and lactams. By utilizing a sequence of radical cascades and subsequent reactions, it aims to enhance organic synthesis while adhering to principles of green chemistry.
Multicomponent reactions (MCR) have recently attracted a great deal of attention as they are considered as a kind of “holy grail” for organic chemists.
Although new examples are constantly flourishing in the literature, there are a limited number of processes that allow multiple components to react together in a single operation.
