Molecular Attraction focuses on developing natural substances to control mosquito behavior, addressing the growing threat of mosquito-borne diseases. The project aims to conduct trials in sub-Saharan Africa to assess the effectiveness and environmental impact of these eco-friendly solutions.
Each year, chemicals worth €8bn are used for Mosquito Vector Control (MVC).
Still, mosquito-borne diseases constitute a major socio-economic burden.
As insecticides start losing efficacy and toxic chemicals are being banned from use (in the west in particular), we are becoming increasingly defenceless.
