This project investigates the dual role of Transforming Growth Factor-beta in cancer, aiming to understand its pro-tumorigenic effects while developing selective inhibitors. The goal is to suppress tumor invasiveness and metastasis without completely inhibiting its tumor suppressive functions.
Transforming growth factor-b (TGFb) is a multifunctional cytokine which has important functions during embryonal development and in tissue homeostasis.
