This project develops a device to monitor and alert caregivers of night-time seizures in epilepsy patients. It features a self-adaptive algorithm for seizure detection and connects to a cloud platform for medical tracking, aiming to enhance safety and quality of life for patients and their caregivers.
Approximately 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy, an illness characterized by recurrent seizures.
The estimated proportion of the general population with active epilepsy is between 4 and 10 per 1000 people.
