The SEED project aims to enhance the capacity for clinical and genetic diagnosis of epileptic encephalopathies at Sfax University in Tunisia. By collaborating with leading institutions, it seeks to improve early diagnosis and management, ultimately benefiting patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
Epileptic encephalopathies (EE) are heterogenous epilepsy syndromes associated with severe cognitive disturbance. EE vary in their onset age, seizure types, electroencephalographic patterns and etiologies.
New molecular technologies increased the genetic diagnosis rate.
