This project aims to clarify the function of the anterior cingulate cortex in decision-making and cognitive control through computational modeling. By integrating various experimental techniques, it seeks to develop a comprehensive understanding of how this brain region influences behavior.
Anterior cingulate cortex is one of the largest riddles in cognitive neuroscience and presents a major challenge to mental health research. ACC dysfunction contributes to a wide spectrum of psychiatric and neurological disorders but no one knows what it actually does.
