This project aims to improve risk prediction for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease by integrating genetic and epigenetic factors. It will develop new polygenic risk models based on comprehensive data analysis to enhance early identification of individuals at high risk.
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is the most common cause of death worldwide.
Aside from asymptomatic manifestations, the first sign of clinically significant ASCVD is often a severe clinical event, such as stroke or myocardial infarction.
Thus, identification of people at high risk is central to battle the deadly consequences of ASCVD.
