The SEA-Quester project studies emerging polar ecosystems to understand their role in carbon sequestration and marine biodiversity. It aims to quantify blue carbon stocks and their dynamics, providing insights into the ecological impacts of these ecosystems and informing policy on marine resource management.
The rapid pace of climate change in high latitude seas is promoting the emergence of novel ecosystems in coastal regions as well as in the open ocean.
