This project investigates the copying and transmission of texts in 17th-century Iceland, focusing on a key figure in a scribal network. It aims to enhance understanding of Icelandic literature and society, while also exploring broader themes in socio-cultural history and literacy.
While much work has been carried out on medieval (including Nordic) manuscripts, literary patronage, and reading culture, less attention has been paid to these issues after the Middle Ages.
