SCRAPS investigates the cultural dimensions of sleep disorders in the modern world, analyzing literature and digital media to understand how contemporary ideologies affect individual health. The project aims to develop a new theoretical framework addressing the emotional impacts of sleep deprivation.
Sleep is in crisis in the twenty-first-century Global North.
People fail to sleep the eight hours recommended by the WHO and sleep disorders are on the rise.
