This project investigates the connections between random walks and percolation theory, focusing on disconnection and the formation of vacant components. It aims to develop new methodologies for a unique model of percolation that traditional approaches cannot address.
The general theme of this research proposal involves random walks and percolation theory.
The research proposal aims at exploring in depth the surprising links between on the one hand a class of problems directly pertaining to random walks (in particular related to disconnection, or the creation of large vacant components and separating interfaces), and on the other hand questions pertaining to a non-conventional model of percolation based on random interlacements.
