This research aims to develop a cognitive model for the iCub humanoid robot to enhance its language understanding capabilities. By integrating statistical inference and sensorimotor experiences, the project seeks to improve human-robot interactions and advance theories of language learning in robotics.
Recently, humanoids have started to be employed in linguistic investigations with the dual aim of endowing robots with the capability to communicate and interact with humans, and further understanding the mechanisms underlying language development.
