ROBIN focuses on developing advanced satellite technology by creating energy-efficient, high-bandwidth optical interconnects using innovative materials and designs. The project aims to enhance data transmission capabilities in space applications while reducing power consumption and costs.
New multi-beam Tera-scale capacity satellites will require a disruptive approach to address digital on-board processors that rely on electronics which consume space, power and cost and reach their capacity saturation.
