This project focuses on improving the effectiveness of bacterial biocontrol agents in agriculture by studying their interactions with native soil bacteria. The aim is to enhance the agents' ability to colonize plant roots and combat pests without relying on chemical pesticides.
Bacterial biocontrol agents (BCAs) are a promising alternative to chemical pesticides in sustainable agriculture.
However, their use is often inconsistent in field, mainly due to the difficulty of BCAs to effectively colonize the rhizosphere and integrate in resident microbial communities.
