This project investigates the effects of geomagnetic excursions on cosmic radiation and ozone depletion during historical events. By analyzing sulfur isotopes in Antarctic ice cores, it aims to confirm the existence of a UV window that could have significant implications for environmental and human health.
The Earth is constantly subjected to cosmic radiation, the intensity of which, at the level of the upper atmosphere and the Earth's surface, depends on the strength of the magnetic field (MF) surrounding our planet.
