This project investigates the role of the thalamus in sensory processing and its connections to other brain regions. It aims to understand how thalamic circuits process sensory information and explore methods to reactivate thalamic neurons to restore vision in cases of optic nerve degeneration.
Sensory systems of the brain inform cortical centers about the outside world via the thalamus.
