ReSuSEE investigates the Melmya Sufi path in Southeastern Europe, focusing on its doctrines and networks since the 19th century. The project aims to understand the socio-political context and the evolution of Sufi practices through a comparative historical approach.
ReSuSEE is a project that will conduct an analytical and comparative in-deep insight of the doctrines, and the networks of deployment of the Melmya-nriya, an Islamic Sufi path that emerged in South-eastern Europe (SEE) through Muhammad Nr Al-Arabs (d. 1887) teachings.
Since nineteenth century, Melmya centers were established in Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania, including three women-only in Strumica, Vranjevci and Prizren.
