This project investigates the genomic changes in circulating tumor cells related to drug resistance in castration-resistant prostate cancer. It aims to identify biomarkers for treatment response and potential therapeutic targets through advanced genetic analysis.
Several new therapies have been recently approved for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) but drug resistance invariably develops and eventually causes death.
Currently, the knowledge on the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance is limited; this is an area of urgent unmet medical need to allow improved treatments for patients.
