This project focuses on enhancing forest resilience against disturbances like climate change and insect outbreaks. By integrating theoretical ecology with empirical studies, it aims to develop effective management practices that support forest conservation and prevent degradation.
The increasing incidence of extreme events (e.g. fires, insect outbreaks) in combination with ramp and press disturbances such as climate and land-use changes are seriously threatening the persistence of forest services on which human well-being depends.
