This project investigates the mechanisms that restrict the direct reprogramming of cells into specific tissue types for regenerative medicine. Using genetic screenings and advanced imaging, it aims to identify factors that inhibit this process, potentially leading to new therapeutic strategies.
Regenerating tissues by reprogramming cells has the potential to become a therapeutic approach for replacing lost tissues in patients suffering from injury or degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Muscular Dystrophy.
