This project addresses the threat of pharmaceutical residues in water by exploring anaerobic digestion techniques for their removal. It aims to enhance water quality through innovative treatment methods and nutrient recovery, collaborating with industry and academic partners for practical solutions.
Since the advent of the water framework directive (WFD), integrated pollution abatement and river water quality improvement has become a major focus in the management of water resources.
