This project investigates the role of the retrosplenial cortex in memory processing and flexible learning. It aims to understand how this brain region integrates sensory information and supports spatial learning, with implications for understanding memory deficits in conditions like Alzheimer’s disease.
An emerging view of cortical area function posits that instead of primarily accounting for sensory processing and motor control, cortical areas might mediate flexible handling of sensory information and motor planning through learning and memory.
