This project explores the impact of armed conflicts on Romani communities, focusing on their kinship networks and social cohesion. Through ethnographic research in conflict-affected regions, it aims to understand how these communities adapt and maintain their social structures amidst adversity.
Existing scholarship has highlighted disparities in the adverse consequences of armed conflicts, forced displacement, and peacebuilding on Romani communities, which feed on and exacerbate prior patterns of marginalisation, racism, and dispossession.
