This interdisciplinary study explores the emerging Tibetan medicine industry across India, China, Mongolia, and Bhutan. It aims to analyze the socio-economic dynamics and public health implications of this traditional medicine as it transitions into a global market commodity.
“Traditional medicine” has recently emerged from a highly marginalized position in many parts of the world to become a rapidly expanding and highly innovative multi-billion dollar global industry.
