This project aims to enhance the understanding of volcanic ash cloud behavior by improving ash concentration estimation, tracking ash plume evolution, and integrating data from various remote sensors. The goal is to provide better forecasting tools for aviation safety during volcanic eruptions.
Our understanding and ability to predict and respond to volcanic hazards and in particular to ash cloud diffusion in the atmosphere cannot be properly addressed in the absence of reliable ash observational and forecasting system.
