This project investigates the importance of rare earth minerals to the European economy, focusing on their entire value chain from mining to final products. It aims to assess demand, supply stability, and recycling capabilities to enhance understanding and management of these critical resources.
Europe is the leading importer and consumer of rare earth minerals both in mineral and applied forms.
Europe is almost dependent on others for imports of these mineral resources, despite the fact that engineering and manufacturing are backbone of many European economies.
