Rapidemic is developing a rapid diagnostic device for detecting sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia and gonorrhea at the point of care. This innovation aims to reduce diagnosis time and improve patient comfort by allowing immediate testing and treatment at health clinics.
Sexually transmitted infections (STI) are some of the most prevalent endemic infections in Europe.
Current diagnostic techniques for STI’s have important shortcomings, as they rely on central diagnostic laboratories with extensive high-throughput facilities with expensive equipment and trained personnel.
Due to this, the turnover of patient samples can take up to a week.
