This project focuses on developing computational methods to simulate complex physical phenomena in heterogeneous materials. It aims to address challenges in multiscale modeling, uncertainty quantification, and the prediction of quantum phase transitions.
Geometrically or statistically heterogeneous microstructures and high physical contrast are the key to astonishing physical phenomena such as invisibility cloaking with metamaterials or the localization of quantum waves in disordered media.
