The QuPhon project aims to create a hybrid quantum system that combines a mechanical oscillator with a superconducting qubit. It focuses on generating nonclassical multi-phonon states using microwave photons, facilitating advancements in quantum memory and transducer technologies.
The main objective of the QuPhon research action is to develop a novel hybrid quantum system between a mechanical oscillator and a superconducting qubit, especially focusing on the generation of nonclassical multi-phonon states in an ultra high-Q mechanical oscillator.
The challenging task will be realized by utilizing itinerant microwave photons transferring nonclassical states in a microwave memory cavity to a mechanical oscillator.
