The Quantum Internet project seeks to create a global network of quantum devices, enhancing communication capabilities. It proposes a new protocol suite that fully integrates quantum mechanics into network functionalities, aiming to improve resilience and enable innovative communication methods.
The Quantum Internet (QI) – a global network interconnecting remote quantum devices – is envisioned as the final stage of the quantum revolution, unlocking unprecedent communication functionalities.
However, the key engineering challenge yet to be solved is the design of a protocol suite for the QI that can fully leverage the marvels of quantum mechanics.
