The project investigates the role of the DEK protein in cancer by analyzing its organization in relation to chromatin structure. It employs advanced imaging techniques to understand how DEK levels correlate with cell proliferation and tumor progression.
DEK protein is a chromatin architectural factor which has been consistently associated with tumour progression.
Its expression level differs between normal and cancer cells, raising the possibility of using DEK as a tumour marker.
