This project investigates the complex nature of visual consciousness, focusing on two types: phenomenal and access consciousness. It aims to explore how these types relate to cognitive processes like attention and memory through advanced neuroimaging techniques and patient studies.
The concept of visual consciousness is notoriously hard to define.
According to Block (1996),visual consciousness, rather than being unitary, is an hybrid theoretical construct that includes at least two discernible concepts:
