This project aims to understand the cellular mechanisms behind cognitive impairments in neuropsychiatric disorders by studying the interactions between the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus during early development. The goal is to identify and potentially correct early network dysfunctions.
The long-lasting burden of major neuropsychiatric disorders results from disruption of cognitive performance in daily life.
Impairment of long-range coupling between prefrontal cortex and hippocampus represents the substrate of disease-specific mnemonic and executive deficits.
