This project investigates how bacterial toxins penetrate host cells, focusing on the mechanisms of tripartite complexes that form channels in membranes. By employing advanced imaging and biochemical techniques, the research aims to elucidate the molecular details of bacterial infection processes.
The main objective of this application is to study the molecular basis of cellular infection by bacterial ABC-type toxins (Tc).
Tc complexes are important virulence factors of a range of bacteria, including Photorhabdus luminescens and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis that infect insects and humans.
