The project aims to enhance hydrogen production from renewable sources by developing new catalysts that do not rely on precious metals. It focuses on optimizing these catalysts for use in proton-exchange membrane electrolysers, facilitating sustainable hydrogen generation.
Hydrogen (H2) generated from renewable energies, such as solar and wind, and water has a huge potential as a carbon-free energy vector which can be exploited on demand through fuel cell technologies.
