This research program examines how sensory perception influences metabolic regulation and feeding behavior, particularly in the context of maternal health and nutrition. It aims to uncover the mechanisms linking early life conditions to lifelong metabolic outcomes.
Sensory perception has recently emerged as a master regulator of integrative physiology and behavior, including feeding, by controlling fundamental and pleiotropic regulatory processes of energy and glucose homeostasis.
