PreventDFU aims to develop a prototype device for the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot ulcers using pulsating negative pressure technology. This device is intended for use in home and nursing home settings to improve the quality of life for diabetic patients, particularly the elderly.
In PreventDFU, we propose to develop an advanced prototype for prophylaxis and treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs).
This condition contributes to morbidity and loss of Quality of Life (QoL) of Diabetes Mellitus sufferers, most especially the elderly.
